Has anybody done any testing of the Odeo Flare?

I just bought one, it seems well built, easy to use (unlike a traditional flare that can burn your hand if you are inexperienced or in panic mode) and works as intended. Not USCG or SOLAS-approved yet (the manufactures say they have applied for the latter).
Has anybody done any independent compares of its visibility vs a traditional flare?
