I'm not familiar with the radio you refer to, but it appears to be similar (at least in function) to the Standard Horizon GX2100 or 2150 AIS available in the US and elsewhere. I have this radio, and have greatly benefitted from its features. I consider it the best marine electronics purchase I've made in the last 2 years. If you sail anywhere near commercial traffic, it is a must-have. Just being able to call a strange vessel by name is a huge benefit.
